In spring and summer, you can start from the Freedom Experience properties to reach Val Canali. If you enjoy cycling, ride along the bike path connecting the villages of Primiero, or head up to Passo Gobbera and Passo Rolle on an e-bike.
Families can have fun at Parco Vallombrosa in Fiera di Primiero or visit the village of Mezzano, exploring art installations and small shops. There are also many events: village festivals, markets, music, and traditions to enjoy outdoors.

Autumn and winter in Primiero
Before the first snow falls, Primiero fills with the warm colors of autumn. Reds, golds, and oranges paint the forests of Val Canali, perfect for walks amidst silence and crunchy leaves. It’s the ideal time to spot deer in rut, explore the villages of Mezzano and Tonadico, and enjoy mushrooms, chestnuts, and local dishes in mountain huts or traditional restaurants.
Then comes the snow, and the valley transforms. Winter opens the doors to the slopes of San Martino di Castrozza – Passo Rolle, part of the Dolomiti Superski circuit. If you’re seeking tranquility, you can go snowshoeing in Val Canali, relax in the forest sauna at our Camping Castelpietra, or be enchanted by the Christmas markets in Siror and Fiera di Primiero, surrounded by soft lights and mountain scents.

Mezzano di Primiero
Included among Italy’s Most Beautiful Villages, Mezzano is a place where the mountains meet culture in every detail. Its quiet streets feature ancient frescoes, stone fountains, flowered balconies, and lovingly tended gardens. Famous for the artistic project “Cataste&Canzei,” Mezzano transforms traditional wood piles into contemporary art installations.
As you stroll through the village, you’ll also discover ancient sundials, carved doors, old sawmills, and corners that tell the story of mountain life as it once was. The village hosts small museums, exhibitions, and musical and cultural events connected to Alpine traditions.

Imer is the first village you encounter when entering Primiero from Valsugana. As you wander through its streets, you’ll discover authentic glimpses, small squares, the little Church of San Silvestro on Monte Totoga, and the historic parish church of Saints Peter and Paul.
It’s also a great starting point for getting around: from Imer, a bike path runs through the entire Valle di Primiero to Siror. If you enjoy hiking, you can head up to Alpe Vederna or follow scenic trails through forests and mountain farms. In the colder months, you’ll also find some cross-country skiing trails. And if you visit in September, don’t miss the Canederlo Festival, featuring local flavors, music, and traditions.

Today it is part of the municipality of Primiero San Martino di Castrozza and is the ideal place for those seeking tranquility without giving up convenience. In just a few minutes on foot, you can reach Fiera di Primiero, the commercial heart of the valley, with shops, restaurants, events, and services.
Strolling through Transacqua means discovering authentic corners, well-kept spots, and a vibrant village life, where the air is fresh and the views can be enjoyed in every season. It’s also a strategic base for hikes and bike tours.

Val Canali
If you’re looking for true nature, Val Canali is unmissable. It’s one of the most beautiful valleys in Trentino, just a few minutes’ drive from Tonadico, with convenient parking along the road.

A must-visit stop is Villa Welsperg, the headquarters of the Paneveggio Pale di San Martino Nature Park. From here, easy trails suitable for everyone start, such as the Welsperg Lake loop or the Muse Fedaie Trail, perfect for a family walk. If you’re up for a more challenging hike, you can reach Rifugio Treviso, with stunning views of the Pale. For a refreshing break with children, don’t miss a stop at Turchese Lake, surrounded by meadows and crystal-clear waters.
The oldest village in Primiero
Tonadico
Tonadico is an easy-to-visit village full of surprises. Located between Fiera di Primiero and the entrance to Val Canali, it is famous for the frescoes painted on its houses, depicting religious scenes, rural life, and symbols of Alpine culture.
You can stroll through the streets of the historic center, visit the Church of San Vittore on the hill (with spectacular views), or explore the small rural churches, such as San Giacomo.
Just a few minutes from the village is Camping Castelpietra, the only campsite in the valley, named after the picturesque Castel Pietra, the ancient medieval castle overlooking the valley above the property. Surrounded by the forests of Val Canali, the campsite offers spacious pitches, direct access to trails, and the perfect atmosphere to experience the mountains with simplicity and freedom.
